Gouin: Colombian Excellence in a Cup
Our Gouin coffee, inspired by Montreal’s iconic Boulevard Gouin, a favorite among cyclists, offers a journey into Colombian coffee mastery. Featuring Pink Bourbon beans grown by a group of dedicated producers—Augusto Ortega, Marleny Galindez, Dani Gomez, Oscar Hoyos, Milton Ortega, Andres Munoz, Fredi Ortega, Carolina Samboni, and Diever Galindez—in the regions of Kennedy, Sevilla, La Muralla, and Nazareth in San Agustín, Huila, this coffee is a testament to their craft.
Each producer contributes their unique methods before delivering their product to the Monkaaba bodega, where it is tasted, analyzed, and selected for this exceptional single-origin lot. The result is a coffee with distinct notes of peach, quince, and subtle hints of barley sugar, embodying the essence of Colombian coffee craftsmanship.
The initiative behind this coffee, known as Las Nubes, aims to support smallholders by purchasing high-quality coffee despite their small lot sizes. This initiative ensures that producers who contribute even tiny amounts, receive fair compensation and avoid blending their high-quality beans into anonymous, large regional lots. It promotes community, dialogue, and learning, providing smallholders a platform to improve their practices and secure better futures.
Indulge in Gouin and experience the exceptional quality that defines Colombian coffee.
